Executive Summary
Iconergy provided commissioning (Cx) services for multiple University of Northern Colorado (UNC) campus buildings, supporting major renovations, additions, and new construction projects. Iconergy served as Commissioning Agent to verify that mechanical systems, domestic hot water systems, and lighting controls were installed and operated in alignment with owner requirements and design intent, including LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning requirements.
Representative UNC Projects
Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion Renovation & Addition (2010): Renovation of UNC’s Physical Education and Sports Pavilion and a 42,250 SF addition for a Sports Medicine/Strength and Conditioning Facility. Iconergy commissioned new HVAC equipment, domestic hot water systems, and lighting controls under LEED 2.2 commissioning requirements. New systems included variable air volume air handlers with a heat recovery wheel and a new water-cooled chiller plant.
Campus Commons (2019): UNC’s 106,000 SF Campus Commons serves as a central campus hub with student support offices, dining, art gallery, theater, hangout spaces, and rehearsal rooms. The facility achieved LEED Gold certification. Iconergy provided LEED v3 Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning services for VAV air handling units, water-cooled chiller plant, high-temperature hot water heat exchangers, and lighting controls.
