Executive Summary
Iconergy was selected to provide turnkey design-build energy retrofit services for Byers School District in Byers, Colorado. The project was funded through the Colorado Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) grant program and completed in 2021. Services included a district-wide Investment Grade Audit (IGA), facilities planning, grant application support, and implementation of mechanical, controls, envelope, and safety upgrades. The project modernized aging infrastructure dating back to the 1970s and positioned the district’s facilities for reliable operation over the next 20 years and beyond.
Facility and Program Overview
Byers School District serves a growing K–12 student population in Byers, Colorado. Prior to this project, many building systems were at or beyond their useful life and did not meet current standards for safety, accessibility, or performance. Iconergy performed a comprehensive assessment of environmental systems and operations to develop a phased improvement plan that aligned with the district’s educational goals and funding opportunities.
