Energize Denver Program: 2024 vs. 2025 Pathways

A frequently asked question is about the relevant timelines for compliance. If you see both 2024 and 2025 timelines, watch the video to determine which one applies to you.

Addressing EUI Score Discrepancies

If your EUI score seems off or your building is misclassified (e.g., listed as an office but it’s a warehouse), we can help with a target adjustment. Iconergy will assess your building, determine if an adjustment is needed, and resubmit your benchmarking report with the corrected EUI score.

Maintaining Compliance After Reaching Targets

To ensure continued compliance after reaching your targets, consider these tactics:

  1. Building Monitoring Systems: Install a system to monitor energy use throughout the day, helping you stay within your target EUI score.
  2. Retro-Commissioning: Conduct regular tune-ups to ensure systems are correctly set, schedules are accurate, and maintenance is up-to-date. This should be done every two to five years or during your target year.

Electrification Credits

Energize Denver Program incentivizes electrification. If your building uses 80% or more electricity, you receive a 10% bonus credit to improve your EUI score. For example, a score of 50 would increase to 55 with this credit.

Benchmarking for Energize Denver Program and State of Colorado

Buildings 50,000 square feet or larger must submit benchmarking for both Energize Denver Program and the State of Colorado. Fortunately, both programs use the Energy Star Portfolio Manager, making it a seamless process. Just remember to submit your annual registration fee for state benchmarking.
